Any 2 lire Redtop Corsa Owners?
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I'm looking into purchasing a Corsa B fitted with a 2 litre redtop and has suitably upgraded suspension and brakes.
I'm just interest to know what are they like to live with everyday?
Noise? Comfort? MPG?
And also whats the handling like with it being so front heavy? I do like the appeal of the car as a sleeper, however if it can't perform on a good twisty B-Road its of little use to me.
Any feedback from owners would be much appreciate.
Cheers

My brother had a 2 litre nova with throttle bodies and a btb four branch manifold, On a good day it would do 15 mpg, when you really give it beans maybe 10 mpg, if the red top is standard you should return 30 mpg when driven normally. It had courtenay springs on it and 16 inch wheels with 45 profile tyres on it and the ride was really very good, certainly liveable on a day to day basis
A friend had one, which now has a LET in it - quite a well known car in the Corsa world I believe.
I cant comment too much on the handling, but it seemed to go well enough around the bends with some decent tyres and spax dampers, lowered approx 40ml I believe.
Noise was fine, not noticably noisier than before the transplant really - why should it be unless other things have been messed around with?
MPG? Again I dont know for sure, but they're not mega thirsty engines in their original cars, as the other poster said 30mpg no probs if not thrashing.
..It went well enough, but 2.0 Corsas are all over nowadays, so it'd have to look pretty standard if it was going to be a sleeper.
