Not wishing to jump the gun but it looks like gm are about to file for bankruptcy, after the demise of rover i remember what it did to the car values so was wondering is this about to be repeated with vauxhall? The other halfs astra is not worth a lot so unless parts become hard to source (which i doubt as rover parts are still available ) it wont affect me to much but i was thinking of others who have bought insignias etc. Any thoughts? I must admit that a cut price vxr8 sounds very tempting :-)

My Astra will not loose any value, its 25 years old smile

It will be a real shame to see Vaux dissapear, Id like to see it in the hands of the brits.

and maybe we can get the mg effect with the vxrs just after mgrover whent bust my parents bought a nearly new mgzr for £5500 bargain and underpriced as it got written off by a drunk driver a week later insurance gave them £6500! so maybe we will see cheap nearly new vxrs! wink

Think ill keep a close eye on the vxr8 for now as there a dealer already offering brand new ones for 8k under list, Means the values dropping already. Gonna be hard not to buy one at this rate smile

There was also another reason why Rovers and MG's plummetted in value, they were crap!
