I am thinking about picking up a VX220 and want to use it day to day. I need very little luggage space so I think the car is ideal. However should more space be required trips to Le Mans maybe or a weekend away with the misses, is there a bag or rack of some description that can be retro fitted to the car in order to carry some more gear?? Thanks in advance

No mate, it's called a chase car lol. Remember the luggage compartment floor can only hold 50kgs of cargo as well frown

I'm pretty sure you can get a boot top luggage rack for the Elise that can fit (might need a bit of tweaking though). How good/expensive/available it is I have no idea though.
You'll be suprised at how much you can fit in a VX though (note turbo boot is slightly smaller). I've done long weekends with the GF by stuffing the boot and the parcel shelf behind the seats and still had room to store the roof...

That was the kind of thing that i was concerned with, just a lack of space for baggage and things. Sounds like it could be an option then. Does the hood and all associated framework etc stow away behind the seat/in the boot?

yep, roof can either go in the boot or behind the seats (although getting it behind the seats is a bit fiddly).
It doesn't take up much room when all rolled up.

The key to succesful luggage carrying in the VX is soft bags. The boot is reasonably large but with a small opening. Nice squishy bags lets you get loads in (hard case wheely type bags are a struggle).

glad you liked it!
There are plenty of nice Turbos about with various levels of tune.
Get yourself over to vx220.org.uk if you haven't already to swot up on what you need to know (and there is a for sale section too).
