Golf V5 lights on sounder?

Hi guys,

I came out of the office yesterday to a flat battery caused by leaving the side lights on all day.

It has not occured to me before but isnt there a "lights-on" warning thing on these cars? If there is - where is it mounted please as i dont have handbook....
