this morning i tryed to start my corsa but it started to make strange noises, almost like it the engin was chewing something up. I think it may be the starter, anyone got any other suggestion?

Would really need more detail from you. What is the age of the car and the engine type (I know its a 1.2 but the engine number would help) Also, has anything happened to it in particular that is out of the ordinary?

I have had a similar issue with mine although it makes a whirring noise when the engine is started cold. The whirring stops once the lights on the dashboard go out. However if I turn the key, wait until the lights go out then start the engine it doesn't do it as much!

I took it to VX last year and they told me the water pump and timing chain would need replacing at a cost of £300+

I ignored them and went for a second opinion and was told it was normal! However I know there is something wrong as it is getting worse. I think I might source a water pump and timing chain from elsewhere and find another garage to fit it!

Whenever i turned the key all the lights on my dash flickered. like there was either a fuse blown or the battery was gone. What was also weird was that when I took the key out, oddly enough it started spraying water on the front and back......sounds like i might have needed a exorcistbiglaugh
