At the moment i drive a 99 V Corsa 1.0 whilst i attempt to save for something i want.

The problem i have with it, is that when the engine gets to any sort of temperature, when i stop or reduce speed quite a lot and engage the clutch the revs drop well below the normal idle speed, to around sub 400rpm and takes roughly 5 seconds for the revs to settle.

When i say engine temperature it never has any overheating problems and the problem starts within around 2-3 minutes of driving.

Any ideas?

Adam

Maybe a problem with the MAF or throttle body? Do you know the engine code?

Idle issues are a pain in the backside. It could be many things. Here are some items that can give bizzare idle issues on your car.

Dirty or clogged Idle Control Valve
Dirty throttle body
Dirty O2 Sensor
Sooted up spark plugs
Damaged ignition lead(s)
MAF
Holes in an air pipe
Warm air getting into MAF via Airbox.

Are you have Idle issues only or is the performance of the car during driving impaired??
