Chassis no / VIN location?
Discussion
Hi mate
A small plaque in the front of the windscreen will give you the build number. From there it would be best to visit vx220.org.uk. They have a listing of each build number, previous owners etc. Always worth digging on that site to look for previous history/ problems with each car. There is also a buyers guide which will point out the obvious problems. From memory check the engine mounts (loud banging during emergency starts in 1st and 2nd gear), radiator problems and dodgy repairs. Much more info on other website though......
Have fun......

When you open the drivers door there is a sticker with details there. Be very careful this time of year. A mate of a mate wrote one off on his way home after buying it. If you haven't driven this kind of car before treat it with respect, especially in the wet.

just to clarify mikes post, the chasis number plaque that can be seen through the window is rivited to the very front of the dash.
found this on vx220.org.uk
"Chassis number is on the dash (front passenger side) and can be seen through the screen.
The chassis number is also stamped on the chassis and can be see through the front wheel (can't remember which side tho)."
