has any one got any advise on 6 ltr monaro????????
Discussion
I've had one for over a year now and its got the bigger 122 SC running 12psi so supposedly on the limit... yawn!!
No issues what so ever although I have done a few extra mods to it like we all do.
Get the rip shift fitted as standard lever is slack and be gentle with the gear change till its warmed up otherwise you will wear the lower syncros, belt slips on SC pullies sometimes but replacement belts are DIY. You will need AP brakes to stop properly if your going to drive it hard but for the road they are OTT really. Make sure its got an LS7 clutch conversion, light (ish)pedal but hard bite.
Alot suffer from water ingress but this is down to the plastic door liners and speaker pods not being sealed properly, an easy DIY fix.
The 112 SC is a little small and limited so go for the 122 with intercooling as this will work alot better in hot weather!
They will do 28mpg at 80-100 leptons, its only playing and town work that kills the fuel economy.
Other than that they are boom proof compared to some and a serious bargain now!

Id keep the Noble unless you really want 4 seats and an easier life. 525 sounds reasonable although its more like 450 at the wheels on these unless its been built for more. Your welcome to jump in mine if after a ride in a SC one. Mine was sold with a supposedly 635hp conversion but I doubt its much over 500 at the wheels... good for 200mph though and the only "official" VXR600 ever sold by VX.

Its a handfull anytime if your not gentle with the throttle! More because the torque level is so high and comes in so low - read 1500rpm where it shreds the tires without issue in the first two gears. Big cc V8's are great for easy power, doubt it would be as good to drive hard as your Noble though, mind you given some straights and it would stay ahead. Im in hampshire BTW.

im thinking of getting a supercharge monaro, has anyone got any advise on price of parts relibilty??? ect ???
Really ? Are you? After the amount of p1ss taking you did on the Monaro forum i would'nt have thought you'd "lower yourself" or is this just another one of your pathetic games.Edited by Bonnie and Clyde on Thursday 21st May 09:14
