unlocking mk4 astra astra steering lock

I have just removed the ignition barrell from my mk4 astra 1.8 SXI 51 plate, the thing is I have come to re-fit the barrell but it just does not seem to be fitting in.



Now the thing is whilst I was trying to refit the ignition barrell I locked the steering wheel and I cannot no matter what I do, unlock it. Please can anybody tell me in very simple terms how I can unlock the steering lock as my car is off the road and need it for work tomorow, I have looked inside the barrell and cannot see the pin I am suppose to mess about with,

WD40 in the barrel, then put the key in and out about a hundred times. The mechanism will be gunked up, this should sort it.
