Hi guys, normally found in the French Bred forum however, my new company car arrives on Wednesday, it's a new Astra Sri. Seen them around and they look rather good. Anything i need to watch out for? I'll be doing a fair amount of mileage in it so longevity is the key.

Thanks

my one is now on 55,000 miles after almost 3 years. So far:

26,000 miles: new manifold on warranty
44,000 miles: new Egr valve on warranty (very common problem)
55,000 miles: going in for possible problem with clutch bearing or flywheel on warranty

It's been loads more reliable than my previous cars (which happened to be French), still feels nice and solid where my saxos felt really tired at this sort of milage.

Thanks Neil. It was delivered yesterday, absolutly fantastic motor. I have spoken to my Fleet dept about possible problems that arise, turns out the deal we have VX is lifetime warrenty (APPARENTLY).

Gave it some beans this morning on my way to work on the A32/A31, destroyed the road in a medley of turbo and grip, we impressed.

Thanks

Soton, you might want to consider a tuning box too, if that's allowed.

Around £250 I believe, available from DTUK, and take it to almost 200bhp.

Cool. I think the 3 door Astra Sri looks very nice.

In honesty, this is a better car than the current Golf GT TDI, I drove both cars recently when I nearly changed and think the Astra is better looking, faster and better to handle, oh and it had I POd connection unlike the German bog standard motor.

Do you honestly think that? I found the seats in the VW far better the VAX's are rock solid and a little tight. I do like the looks though.
