Hi all,

My girlfriend's 1.0 12v Corsa has started cutting out once warmed up. It needs to be left for a long while before if will restart. I've been reading around on google this morning and it seems there are two common faults, the MAF sensor and the crank sensor. Am I right in saying that the symptoms sounds more in keeping with a failing CPS rather than the MAF? I'd thought about the coils as another possibility but given that there are three of them would I be right to assume that the car would still start on 2 cylinders if one was breaking up? No warning lights are coming on by the way.

Unlikely to be the MAF. Might be worth sticking this in GG for a faster response.

Cheers mate. After a bit more research, I'm now 99% its the CPS so I'm going to pick one up today and try that. If that's no good, I'll stick this in GG.

does it have an alarm/imob? As said a maf shouldnt cause problems but you can unplug to test that out (just dont run without as a best bet).

I had a very similar problem years ago not on a Corsa but similar symptoms. When hot or when the engine was hot it would just sometimes cut out or not start then I would have to wait and wait until it would restart. It turned out to be a problem with dry solder on the imob unit so its the place I always look first these days.
