Do you use Archie Moss yourself ? Are they helpful ?
I take mine to TMS (who I'd recommend), however the previous owner of my car and a chap who took me out in his vxr used Archie Moss and said they were good. This thread on the owners site may be useful:

Rude and incompetent Vaux dealers seem to be the norm from what I've read
The AMM goes quite regularly on the turbo, especially if it's fitted with an aftermarket filter, and water in the plugs is also fairly common. You can get a water ingress kit from the stealers which is just bit of metal the bolts on to the engine cover to stop this.
Hopefully they'll have sorted it for you and you can enjoy your car

Don't take it to any authorised Vaux dealers except TMS or Bayliss and Haynes, do a search on 220.org.uk and you'll see why!
In the midlands take it to Horizon or Top Gear Automotive for anything else you need doing.
The VX is about the only car where a full 'main dealer' service history would put me off buying it!
I'd much rather see a folder full of TMS / Courtney / Plans / Horizon / TGA recipts than a few man dealer stamps in the book.
Put it another way if you had 2 VX's one owned by someone who takes it to the local Vaux garage down the road because its 3 minutes away, and the other is prepared to drive 100 miles to TMS then drive another 100 back and has enhanced servicing, Mintex pads not OEM ect, ect who do you think has taken the most car of their car?
I know which one I'd want...

Thing is while the car is under warranty whats the point in paying a specialist hundreds of pounds when the problem can be rectified for free.
I think the car will need a new ECU - How much would that cost $$$ !!!
Vauxhall have the car again and hopefully will get to the bottom of it.
Dream on if you think your average Vauxhall Garage are going to be able to help you...I think the car will need a new ECU - How much would that cost $$$ !!!

TMS is fully VX warranty authorised, they know what they are doing, they even usually know what the problem is as soon as you tell them whats wrong and can fix it so much faster and right first time!
All the specialists I listed above know the car inside out, not like the main dealer I took mine too for a rear light replacement (hey it can't be that hard can it...) who had 3 mechanics scratching there heads round the TIS screen to see how to change it!!! an hour later and it still was not right and so I went home...
Bayliss and Haynes have a very highly rated VX specialist (Paul I think) and they are in Cheltenham but please don't think you won't have to travel to get the VX cared for because you will!
From your line 'Vauxhall have the car again and hopefully will get to the bottom of it' I don't think it will be long before you realise either!
