I've found a car for sale which purports to be a VXR. It's an '04 in yellow and has black 'snowflake' alloys.
All the VXR's in the PH classifieds have 'plain' black 5 spokes and are red.
So what's the spec on the VXR?
Thanks.

most people are not aware but there are a few VXRs that are not red. 1 blue, 1 moonland, 1 yellow, 1 black.

do a search on the owners forum for more details www.vx220.org.uk

the standard alloys on all vxrs were the black 5 spoke speedlines.

Thanks for the quick and informative replies. As I suspected, it sound as though it is not a VXR - but on an 04 with 9k miles and at £12995 perhaps still represents good value (assuming all else checks out?

Is VXR spec engine just a chip or is there more to it?

Different turbo, 220bhp and speedline wheels. I would look at www.vx220.org.uk / www.type116.com.

they also have different seats. It wont be a vxr at that price, I think they are still at about 18k.

Apparenty the turbo is the same unit as on the vxt but it has been modified somehow.

most vxt owners end up putting the astra vxr turbo in if the standard one dies as its a better unit.

The ONLY yellow VXR220 belongs to 'Mani' on the vx220.org site

Here it is on one of the Midlands runs,

If its not THAT car its not a VXR220, Its number 9/65 by the way!

PM him if you want any more info on the car which I don't belive is for sale!

Those snowflake alloys sound like standard VX220 turbo alloys painted black.
It is a reasonable price for a turbo.
