Ok tomorrow I get an Astra diesel delivered. It's about 12 months old and I understand it will be a 1.7 cdti. How do I tell which version of the 1.7 it is e.g the 80ps or the 100ps?

I have a 05reg 1.7tdi astra, 80bhp. I think the newer ones have 100bhp... could be wrong though. Could try asking a dealer?

Well it's arrived and it is an 05 plate, so I will do some digging.

It turns out it was an 80bhp. I have to say and bearing in mind I have been used to driving things with over 170 bhp and as much as 360bhp it isn't that bad.

Admitedly the car I have has done 52,000 miles and so it is undoubtedly nicely loosened up.

It gets replaced next May with the new 1.3cdti.

just had my 60k service done. never had any problems with it at all. When I fancy going for a good blast i just take the vxt out :-)
