Test drove an Elise yesterday and thought it was good. I also want to test drive the VX220 n/a before i make a decision. Thing is they are few and far between at dealers. The nearest one to me is around 60 miles away. (that i have found)

Is anyone local to Maidstone or Sittingbourne that would let me have a look at theirs and maybe take me for a spin. Dont worry i would not expect to drive it, it will just give me an idea and then i can organise a test drive of one if it still wish to pursue it. Looking at either Elise S1 or VX220 n/a to replace the Tiger. I need something more practical that i can put a baby seat in.....actually do they fit in the VX?

Cheers

I very much doubt it!

Not having kids myself but the seats are very slim and taper in to 'hug' you and provide great cornering feel, not what I'd have thought baby seat designers had in mind!

Good luck with the hunt tho!

I know that they will fit into an Elise so assumed they would with the VX220. If not then that counts the VX out anyway.

If you post of www.vx220.org.uk im sure you will find someone local to take you for a spin, were a freindly bunch :-)

My cousins are near maidstone and a bought my vxt from the vx garage in sittingborne. Unfortunatly i very rarely venture out that way though.

As for the child seat, again your best ogg asking on the owners forum, I do know a few people have put child seats in the vx.

all the best

I've got a VXT and live in Sevenoaks, if you're passing...

Be warned though that the VXT and the N/A car have substantially different suspension characteristics, being passenger in a VXT and thinking 'that's compliant and comfy' and buying a VX220 N/A on that basis may not be wise.

All the N/A boys on the vx220.org.uk forums slag off the Turbo for being lardy and soft... wink

For very good reasons, IMHO.

Not on the roads I like to go quick on mate... the wheels would be off the ground with harder suspension. Besides, if you're a masochist, get an S1 Elise wink

On the last run out watching the NA's just vanish in the rear view mirror was 'er' interesting!

Though I suppose another 100hp makes quite a difference!!!

One of the lads even txt'd me later in the evening to say 'great night out, but try and remember we have'nt all got turbo's...'

It fitted ok then? We have got a Recaro Yound Sport so i am hoping it will fit in either the Elise of VX once i have decided which to go for.

Hi Damien, I recently tried the Recaro Young Expert Plus with my 1 year old in the VXT. Fitted really quite well although tbh I wouldn't feel comfortable having the little 'un in the car on a regular basis - especially with a CS4cool

I'm also in Kent if you wanted a look, in Orpington: give me a good excuse to get the VX out of the garagesmile

Thanks Simon. The baby seat would be to and from work maybe twice a week tops and then the odd drive at the weekend. It is know that i can should i want to, which with the Tiger i was not able to.
