VX220 Turbo - Exciting???
Discussion
So I've sold my M3 Evolution and I'm on the verge of buying a VXT. The M3 was great, but it wasnt hardcore enough and after coming out of an S2000 as my previous car it didnt thrill in the right areas. So, will I find the VXT a more exciting drive than the M3, is it better than an S2000??
If you have a view, or have driven the above cars and can make a factual comment I'm interested to hear.
One other point, the VX will be a second car for me, which the M3 and S2000 were not. As such, I'm not to worried about comparisons of comfort and luxury as I understand the different purposes of the cars. I'm interested in the thrill factor!
Many thanks
James

A lot of car for sure, a different experience to either the S2000 or M3 though I'd suggest.
Stage 2 makes them properly exciting which would take it to 250bhp/250ftlbs and eliminates the flatspot around 3000rpm, all for around £2K.
All in all a truly great car thats sadly overlooked due to the badge in many cases. It is without doubt a future classic.
I sold my VXT recently and as soon as I get the chance will buy another for sure.
Go for it, definately...

Really depends on what you want from a car, all IMO, but yes a VX220T will be a lot more exciting than an M3, it accelerates quicker and can corner faster, compared to an S2000, for me the S2000 lacks torque, I appreciate that you rev it and use the gears, but I love the ride of a big torque curve, you accelerate in any gear and the VX220T really picks up and goes.
You only real question is can you live with the lack of space?
I bought mine last Saturday and its great.

I think you will love the VXT. Mine is my second car as I could not live with it as my every day car, but lots of owners do.
It is a real drivers car without any luxuries, go for it, you will love it.
I notice you are in Hampshire, anywhere near Basingstoke?

Yes, just round the corner in Fleet! Thats a coincidence
Hello all!!
I am now selling my beloved VxT - here is all the blah blah blah again...
2003 VXT (out of warranty now)
Standard alloys and suspension
Best sounding exhaust system on a VXT barr none (one off factory produced Miltek full exhaust system)
Thorney Stage 3 VXR map (yes, VXR around 265bhp - Thorney for official figures)
Charge Cooler
New tyres fitted 2 months ago
MOT for 12 months and 6 months road tax
45k miles
I know the milege is high, but its been my only car for 3 years from new. Its had the following:
New engine around 28k miles (from dealer, can supply receipts)
New ECU around 2 months ago (from dealer, can supply receipts)
New Turbo and Inlet Manifold 13 weeks ago
Basically, most of the major components were replaced under warranty thus giving another 3 odd years of hopefully trouble free fun. Hardly any stone chips and the alloys are in decent nick as well. I have the windscreen and the front 'V' colour coded to the car.
If anyone wants to make a sensible offer, then please PM me.
Oh! I want £15,500 for it ono!

Will give you £11k for it Jinder ...
What a plon*** !!
Sorry only jokin, but Jinder's car is a real beauty and you cannot realitically expect to get it for that amount of money. Try looking at older NA versions, you may find something in your price range.

As a second car only it is definitely worth it IMHO.
I recently drove a friend's much modified Opel Speedster (270 bhp / 320 lbs.ft verified on the dyno ; lowered with öhlins all round, lightened wheels shod with Yoko A048-R, Reverie buckets) and it was definitely the most fantasfastexhilarating car I've ever been in.
In this state of tune and in good hands it will annihilate any car four or five times as expensive on most racetracks.
I can't see anything beat this in terms of both outright fun, efficency and cheapness apart maybe from a modded Donkervoort D8 Cosworth - though these remain still quite more expensive.
