After four years of driving and finishing Uni in a few weeks I am finally getting my first car. Was looking at a Ford Cougar 2.0, but I have had an unbeievable deal on a 1.2sxi corsa from my mum so will be getting that! I have driven this car for over 3 yrs on her policy, it is nippy but could do with some more grunt!!! I was wondering if anyone had any tips on improving the performance of the engine? It is a 1.2litre 16v ecotec putting out 75bhp.

Thanks

Yeah there is actually quite a lot you can do to these little engines. 100+ BHP is obtainable with an inlet manifold, chip and exhaust system. Will be expensive tho. Head on over to Corsa C UK (www.corsa-c.co.uk), the guys there will ba able to help.

Yeah, jusy buy a faster car in the first place
What the insurance will cahrge you extra for the mosd will probably be more than it would be to insure a standard car with the same power, thats unless your not planning on telling them plus it'll be worth more when you come to sell it, but thats up to you

Thanks for the info guys! Probably will just get a faster car in a couple of years time, once I can afford it! Given me some ideas though if I do fancy it!
