but ....
the challenge is which exhaust, should i replace the standard one with?
need to find someone local to me with a Milltek (VXR) fitted or something else to try out some different noises, dont want anything too loud annoying the neighbours is not an intention and quiet like the standard noise most of the time.

If you like the standard noise keep it standard.
I'm *quite* sure 75%+ of the remap gains are through the boost upgrade, not because of a fruity sounding, expensive to fit, cost "fluffing" exhaust pipe.
I see exhausts on turbo cars in the same way as the £100 phono/scart cables that Comet try to sell you when you've just bought a £500 TV, that you REALLY need
I'd also worry that they'd purposely under optimise your cars potential just to prove some point that you needed their exhaust fitting for 3x the cost of the remap alone!

Dave, I would normally agree with you, but have you heard a VX without an aftermarket exhaust, it sounds like a hairdryer. Totally transformed with a Milltek or other sports exhaust. Then it sounds like it should have in the first place !!
Not sure what the turbo sound like with standard exhaust but my NA sounds great standard, quiet when driving at slow speeds but just the right ammount of sound when given some beans! Although I may be tempted by a slightly throatier back box in the future!
BTW Calypso Red is THE BEST COLOUR!!!!!!!!!!

The VSE is a good choice if you want an inexpensive way of getting a nice sound. Milltek is better for performance, but more expensive and a bit more muted.
