You could always change the title.

I'm quite interested in this too. I'm looking at getting a Honda iVtec'd S2 Elise, or a VX. But I've never really had anything to do with the VXs before.

What's the difference between the n/a and turbo? Is the turbo progressive? I don't like the bite usual turbo setups give, so much prefer n/a engines, but with the extra numbers on paper, is it worth it?

The main advantage the turbo gives is outright straight line speed. It has a slightly softer suspension set up than the NA so doesn't handle quite as well but the difference is marginal.

The turbo comes in at 2000rpm and goes all the way up to about 6500rpm so you've got a much wider powerband than say a VTEC engine or the Elise 111R.

A number of VX owners (me included) have found the the turbo suffers from flat spots where the power isn't as smooth as it should be but this can be cured by a remap (£500).

Overall if you can afford a turbo then I think that is the one to have but at the same time you won't be disappointed with an NA.

Go for the Turbo.

Then go to TMS and get the Miltek and a Stage 2 remap.

Hilarity for all.
