Insignia AFL Nightmare
Discussion
Hello, I'm new to this forum and wondering if anyone has had an issue with Vauxhall Insignia AFL lights.
My lights used to do the dance on startup and work fine, then they did the dance, worked fine for about 5 seconds until the drivers light went off.... now only the passenger light does the dance and neither main beam is working. I can put the lights on manual and get the dipped beams to work, but the main beams will no longer come on no matter what I do. I've had 2 different mechanics look at it, new ballast was installed, but no joy. End result, I have a perfectly good car (diesel with 90k) failed MOT and sitting gathering moss and dust. I am not giving the dealer megabucks for two new headlights, any suggestions out there? Thanks.

Sorry this is such a late reply. If you are still having this issue I think you can swop the AFL to normal headlights. I’ve got a Corsa VXR and that has AFL that were retro fitted by a previous owner. So i assume you can swop normal headlights for AFLs. At least it would mean the car will pass an MOT.
Hi all,
so I found a solution to the known AFL FAULT on insignia cars.
if you unplug the camera behind the Rear view mirror the lights won't turn but will work in manual mode.
take of the plastic covering and unplug the camera make sure the battery lead is off when doing this once you unplug it out battery lead on and turn he's lights on.
you now won't loose your main beam either.
