Astra VXR future classic?
Discussion
A friend has a 06 Astra VXR sat in his garage that he really doesn't use. When i say he doesn't use it I mean it. For the last 5 years the only mileage added to it has been driving to and from the dealers from MOT and service, about 30 mile round trip.
Consequently it only on 19,000 miles yet still has full service history and a yearly MOT and hasn't been sorn.
He's of the opinion it will soon start to increase in value so it's worth maintaining this history.
He believes it currently worth around £13k despite WBAC coming back with £3.5k. What is it worth now? and is he right, will it soon be up there in the price brackets of the classic Fords of the 90s? or is he totally delusional?
I note the VX forum on here isn't exactly the most active, which forums out there would be best for VX or even VXR related stuff?

Im no expert on this, but I would say no, its an astra VXR, there are probably thousands still out there, low mileage so probably ask a higher price for it, but realistically, having it stood in the garage doesnt do it any favours as things like rubbers and stuff will dry and crack and perish, so if it was sold, its potentially still going to need similar stuff doing to it as a car with higher mileage.
For some reason Vauxhall’s don’t command the high classic prices that similar Fords do. Only exception is a Lotus Carlton. By all means keep the car safe and cared for. Mint original interiors really sell classic cars but Vauxhall’s and high prices you will have to be lucky to find that high paying buyer. £6k is the going rate for a 30 year old vauxhall with a GTE or GSi badge. Cheaper modern classics if you are a buyer. A 91 gte 16v was £16k new so still a long way from matching its new price.
