Insignia parking brake sticking on.

Hi all I have a 2010 Insignia Auto, yesterday my parking brake failed to release when I tried to drive away, after an hour of messing around and holding the switch on and off etc it suddenly released, had anyone else had any issues with theirs? , how did you resolve the issue ? Pete.
