How to fit a parking sensor kit for Astra MK4 diesel van?

Can anyone point me in the right direction with this? I'm okay with wiring diagrams but I'm not very automotively-literate so I don't like to start prodding and poking things until I know exactly what I am doing.

I'll probably buy a cheap secondhand Haynes manual - it should help a bit - but looking a the wiring loom is never quite the same thing as looking at the diagram. I need to locate the positive, reversing light, and ground. It sounded simple until I opened the cover.

There are a fair few video guides on YouTube but I have not been able to find one that tells me precisely WHERE I should attach the wires from the kit, and looking at that bundle of wires it's a bit daunting.

Buy a multimeter (and learn how to use it) and a worksop manual.

You are asking for trouble if you just go straight for coloured wires without testing them first.

Thanks DuraAce. I think I can get the manual cheap (secondhand) on eBay and I do have a multimeter in the back of a cupboard somewhere. I'll dig it out and see if I can find some instructions to refresh my memory - it's been a long while since I used it.
