Vauxhall’s weird spec
Discussion
Was having a discussion with a mate about the strange spec that the Vauxhall range has, mainly the availability of a heated front windscreen.
For example, the Corsa - apparently has one, though I can’t see a button to push.
Astra K - not even an option.
Crossland X - standard on Elite and above.
Grandland - as per Crossland X.
Insignia - now an option I think.
Mokka X - not even an option.
I’m assuming it’s something to do with a model age thing, though I can’t see why the Astra K doesn’t have it. You would think that it would be a fairly easy thing to add to the range, albeit a new screen and loom to be produced. Anyone have an explanation for this?
It’s weird that the Crossland X, which is a sort-of Corsa sized SUV has a better Elite spec than an Astra K Elite spec.
Another thing we were wondering is the Crossland X is essentially a 2008 and the Grandland X a 3008 - do the Peugeot equivalents have heated front screens? We couldn’t see that they did.
Apologies for the rambling. It’s just strange conversations two car fans have at times!

Vauxhall are strange these days. Last shape Astra (Astra J) everyone assumed you got Bluetooth but unless you paid for the optional extra upgrade stereo you didn't. Imagine the shock when you press the buttons to connect your phone and get it all working as all models have them to find out you don't have blue tooth.
Yes I was one of them people.

In a strange way I like that approach. I think aesthetically I would rather have a button that doesn’t do anything, than a button blanked off.Yes I was one of them people.

The Corsa heated front screen is activated with the rear screen demist button, both on together. For example, the Corsa - apparently has one, though I can’t see a button to push.
