I have just had this remapped from 85bhp to 110bhp & 170nm to 280nm.

I am wondering what sort of maximum torque can the drive train on this car take?

Can anyone give me any suggestions for keeping where and tear on the clutch & turbo to a minimum?

Use less of the right foot and don’t dump the clutch !! It’s all depends on driving style . Parts are cheap anyway .

if i wanted to keep w&t to the minimum I wouldnt have got the car remapped full stop but I think i get what you are saying.

you wanted more power but now you have it how do you keep the wear down......dont be tempted to lug the car in gear thinking its nice pulling 280nm from low revs in a high gear. that will kill it eventually whether it be bore wear on the thrust side, transmission, or clutch slip so use the gears correctly. dont flat shift. some cars can be mapped so that 1st and 2nd gear torque is limited.

regular engine oil and filter changes wouldnt be a bad idea for the engine and turbo.

if if hasnt already had a coolant flush and renewal then I would do that for the best cooling. Maybe add a larger intercooler to reduce charge temps.

so many variables - the car might have been in good health when remapped or it could have been on deaths door and the upgrade could make it go pop any time. the latter should have been picked up by the tuner though and a good one will have turned you away until the baseline motor was tip top.
