Hi all,

I've got a 2010 insignia 2.0cdti with the M32 6 speed manual gearbox, and a strong whine free of charge as well!

I've been told by my mechanic that the bearings are going in the gearbox, and it seems to be a common issue... jolly good! Tried swapping the oil in the gearbox, and there's definitely some silver in the oil too... refilled with new and flushed but as expected it hasn't really helped too much.

Two questions,

1) I'm based in N E Scotland, does anyone know any companies that can replace the bearings at a reasonable cost ?

2) Research brings up a few well recommended companies down in England who offer this service at a good price, with good reviews, but at close to 400miles away I'm concerned about driving it that far in case the bearings seieze and go through the gearbox casing.. any experts got any thoughts on whether this is likely or not and worth the risk? It's at a level where you can clearly hear it, but it's not extremely loud... yet.

Any help would be appreciated

I haven't had cause to use this firm (yet!), so not a recommendation, but may be worth a try being a bit closer to you:

I thought he was on here so may be along at some point.
