Anyone got a petrol Insignia Gran Sport?
Discussion
I've been pleasantly surprised with my 2011 Insignia CDTI SRI with two caveats. Firstly its diesel (I bought it literally weeks before the Government announced all these anti diesel measures) and secondly the ride on the bigger wheels (my fault, I went for the look on the 18s).
So, keep seeing the newer GranSport model and think it looks really nice in the right colour and spec, but I wont buy another diesel now, so thinking of 1.5Turbo, the 165 model... as the new 1.6 model is a bit too new. You can get such good deals on 1 or 2 year old Vauxhalls that I am tempted to stick with the marque, as there's much about the older model I like. Namely, the most comfortable motorway cruiser I've ever owned!!
Anyone on Pistonheads got one? Surely there must be somebody somewhere! If so, I'd like to know what you think of it. It appears the new model has a better ride, which is one area that they needed to improve on.
Hi, I'm a manager for a rental company. With these being typical rental fodder, I've driven a fair few. The spec we have at the moment are Sri VX Line. The ride is great, much better on the smaller wheels that the petrol ones come with. The interior is a Huge improvement on the previous generation and is a nice place to sit.
The engine doesn't feel overwhelmed and loves to rev but has a decent amount of mid range shove when you need it.
Typically with vauxhall, the fuel economy is not great, but it never will be in a large car with a smaller turbocharged engine.
The 2.0 diesel is better, but only by a small margin and as you say, petrol is the way to go at the moment.
