Insignia Grill Badge

Can someone clear up a query I have, As a daily workhorse I have a 2012 Insignia, not long after I got it the griffin badge on the grill went missing, I have noticed that about 30% of all insignias are the same, any one know why? And what can I do to stop it happening again if I get a replacement ?

Crap design. Coat the back in tiger seal next time.

Cost cutting. I read somewhere (probably here) that the grille is designed to hold the Opel badge, when the (fully enclosed ina circle) Griffin is placed in the non modified space it rattles out and is lost.
