Corsa SXi 2005 Heater Problems

Hi all, as above. Heater on a pals SXi isnt working ie its only blowing cold air!
Is the heater on these cable or electric ?

Is there any coolant in it?

That's what it turned out to be when my brother reported the same symptom on his car. The breather on the water pump had come off and it had lost every drop of coolant.

He didn't report the issue until he had driven the car like this for several weeks. This was last year and it's still working fine with a new water pump and coolant
