Been looking at this;
http://www.edenvauxhall.co.uk/used-vehicles/641100...

How mad am I?

With performance pack these are over 20K brand new, this is 15K....
How much warranty would come with this? I can't find any information on a used vauxhall.

Coming from a stage 1 decatted mk4 1.8t would I find this slow?

I know its a vauxhall,

But I can't afford a S1/new gti/fiesta st/ ETC.

Cheers,

-L

That looks like a great deal it won't feel slow as for the warranty you'll have the balance of it left so it'll be 2 years plus, you can always extend the warranty.

Yes you can.

Broadspeed will sell you a brand new UK Ford Fiesta ST1 for £15,000

https://broadspeed.com/new_cars/Ford/Fiesta/Choose...

And thats the first broker i checked.

I'd have a new ST (or even a pre-owned one) over that Corsa, personally.

If an ST 1 is too poverty spec for you, what about a 2016 ST 3 with similar miles to that VXR for a lot less... £13,750

Funny, we thought about getting the A45 in the green, but we thought the novelty might wear off.

Each to their own though smile

If you're spending money that would buy you the best in class - the Fiesta ST - why would you want to put the same money (or more) into a car seen as an also ran? And also - by the O/Ps own admittance - isnt his preferred choice anyway?

Hi, thanks for all replies, I have to admit I like the green,

I honestly can't see myself in a fiesta st the money is not the only reason, I've never really liked that truth be told.

Will look into the purple one.

Will it feel slow compared to a 1.8t mk4 golf stage 1 with decat, is the question praying on me...

Thoughts?

If you have a preference for one of these, then thats reason enough. I'd take a drive in an ST for comparison though - saying as they are so close in price.

If you have a preference for the green, use the purple one as a negotiating tool on the green one. See if it would encourage them to move on price.

For an £800 difference? You could be there and back in a day.

If someone offered you a days work for £800 cash in hand would you not snap their hand off?

Still worth letting the dealer with the green one think its an option (even if you decide its not) and using it as a lever.

Drive The Deal were a fair bit cheaper a couple of years ago. Didn't the VXR have some engine issues ?

Thats their image and thats the perception of them.

Its a decent enough car - the problem is the competition is exceptional

The old model had issues with a piston melting, IIRC. Always the same cylinder catching the heat, mostly in modified cars.

I know the new exhausts are cheaper but I really wish they had kept the triangular exhaust port.

Excluding the fiesta st, can anything else match it on equipment, price and performance?
