My old Mondeo (please don't shout at me, VXers!) is on it's last legs, so I'm looking for something else that is the same sort of size.

I've suffered diesel drudgery for the past four years, so want to get back into something petrol powered again. I'm inclined to think petrol engines are now inherently more reliable than diesel engines, especially as the mileages increase.

Browsing Auto trader, as you do, and I came across the 2.0 litre turbo engined Insignia. I never realised they did this engine, so I'm trying to find people's experiences of it. However it seems to be a pretty rare car, and Google results are thin on the ground. Does anybody on here have one, and what's it like as an ownership prospect?

I tried to register with VXR Online, but it threw up this message, so can't get on there...

Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

Out of interest are you still looking or get one of these?

The engine is from a SAAB Aero 2 0T so should be bombproof and a remap away from 250bhp which is handy.

Needless to say the Insignia is a heavy car so won't be as sprightly but I think the interior is very good regardless of brand.

The US-spec Buick Regal 2.0 Turbo is essentially the same car, so you should have no trouble at all finding information on it. Besides, you can swap the grille and badges for Buick ones if you really want to have fun confusing people!
