Hi,
Anyone else found their VXT (or N/A with Turbo seals) leaks around the doors?
Mine only goes out in nice weather usually and lives in a nice cosy garage when not being driven, but I got caught out in drizzle the other day - the carpets now pong having obviously got damp from the experience.
Is is just the doors/roof that can leak or can water get in elsewhere?

Yep, they can do that, and there are two solutions.
The first is to make sure the windows are closed firmly against the seals - there are a couple of screws at the bottom of the door which tilt the glass in and out. Be careful with these though, as they can vanish into the door without warning!
The second (and better) option is to get the "new" VXT door seals (there must be a better way of describing them). Basically, around the triangles where the door mirrors attach the newer VXTs have a sort of cup/channel to guide the water out of the car. There's a pic on this thread of the door seal I'm talking about.
More information on both of these should be available with a search on the owner's club website (www.vx220.org.uk ).
Hope this is of some use!

Thanks DanL
I phoned the local dealer today and it's going in tomorrow (must be a world record!)
The info will, I'm sure, be very useful - especially as they were umming and ahhing about warranty (mine's a June 2003 car so still has 16 months left to run)
I'll post what happens

Plipton

Good luck - call Vauxhall direct (as others have suggested) and you should be in luck. Failing all else, you could go to the owners club and send an e-mail or PM to "StuHarris1" - Stu's the VX brand manager, and has sorted me out in the past when I needed a new radiator (some screw up in the supply chain somehere). He may be able to pull some strings if you're lucky.

By owners club do you mean VX220.org.uk?
IIRC, Mart356 had his seals replaced late in life. Have a look on www.v220.org.uk.
