Afternoon all
Ive noticed the engine running slightly rough. Its barely noticable just small changes in idle but anyway i had a look at the usual suspects coil packs etc when i noticed a bit of oil round cylinder 4s spark plug so i took it out and it has oil up the thread. Ive taken the others out and theyre all bone dry. Could the rough idle be a loss of compression? Im thinking piston rings or maybe a head gasket but the car has only done 45,000 miles and is 5 years old. Are there any other usual suspects that im missing before making a potentially very expensive trip tonthe garage?

Cheers

I know this is a old thread but is there anymore development on the problem?

I quess its a 1.4 or 1.6 petrol turbo.

I know of a 1.4 turbo that used oil and put it into the induction system this was down to 2 cracked pistons. The engine had only done about 45k
