Hello,

The driver side control panel is not working very well. It's erratic in that I can get the window down but then it's a job to get it back up. The rest of the functions work ok eg. "boot open" button, buttoms for moving wing mirrors. I just have a couple of questions relating to this:

1. What is the correct way to remove this panel? (If I remove it myself I do not want to make a bodge up).

2. Can it be fixed or do I need to buy a new one?

Thanks in advance for any contributions.

Cheers,
Kieran 25/1/15

You are best off using "proper" plastic trim removal tools to prise the switch panel up, in order to avoid damaging the surrounding plastic. Anything sharp like a screwdriver can cause damage. With these it will come out easily enough. When I had trouble with a panel on a 2002 car, I just got a replacement on Ebay from a used Vauxhall spares specialist, swapped it over and all was well.

Without being condescending, take care over what replacement you get, as there are various combinations of functions depending on year and model.

Thanks for your reply. Help appreciated. In the end our mechanic sorted it without replacing the unit. It's working fine now. Thanks again.
