Vectra car alarm.

Hi all, My 2008 Vectra has a factory fitted alarm (im presuming the all do?) My simple problem is it keeps triggering/going off for no reason that I can make out, does anyone know what the issue can be?

It's probably the power sounder battery getting low. It causes the Alarm to spontaneously go off. Usually early hours of the morning in my case.

Ok thanks, I know the main car battery is fully charged, does the car alarm have its own battery and if so can I replace it myself or do I have to go to Vauxhall armed with cash?
Also when it does go off it sounds like the alarm is in the N/S rear quarter somewhere, is that the case.

As above our Astra h kept doing this and it was the back up battery in the siren (sealed unit I was told) replaced under warranty with a new one, take a chance and strip it I'm sure maplin will do battery that's suitable,

Yes it's a sealed unit. If you take it out your alarm will still work but only off of the main battery.

I did this with my frontera a few years back as it kept going off.
