2006 Astra 1.6sxi Air con noise
Discussion
Hi, looking for a bit of advice. My 1.6 Astra H has developed a noise when the air con is switched on. The noise seems to run in tandem with the engine revs. I can only describe it as a sort of buzzing noise. It sounds worse when accelerating. Could this mean the compressor is past its best or would such a noise be common if the air con was just needing a regas? The temperature still seems to be fairly cold, but of course these things can decline gradually and maybe not be as noticeable as they should be. I've had the car 4 years without really giving any attention to the air con system.

Hi
I have the same car/engine/spec and I also had this same noise.
I ignored it and now the A/C is no longer working/blowing cool. I am going to take it off for re-gassing/leak testing when I get chance and hopefully it will perk back up.
I did notice as well as time has gone along that the fans were working harder and more often when in traffic to keep the a/c cool so I am hoping that it was just down on gas and working extra hard.
I would recommend a re-gas visit, a place near me is £40 for the job but I just haven't had a day when I can be car-less.
