Insignia buying advice please

Evening all,
An elderly neighbour is looking to buy an Insignia Estate for his daughter, and has asked for advice.
It will probably have high mileage.
They have no preference for fuel type.
Are there any know issues, either with the model in general or specifically with diesels or petrols?
A very general/open enquiry, I know. But any advice will be gratefully received.
He's also looking at Insignias, so I'll make the same enquiry in the Vauxhall section.
