Corsa 1.3 cdti - not starting after chain changed.
Discussion
I'm having problems with my corsa 1.3 cdti, I bought the car because it was a none runner, we found out that the timing chain had slipped and caused the rocker arms to break.
We have changed the head gasket, we have made sure the valves are not bent and we have done the timing chain kit.
The corsa will not start. We have checked to see if the timing is right and all seems well, the pistons are at mid bore and the timing is fine.
All glow plugs are working and it is fine with compression.
What now?????

Are you absolutely sure the timing is correct. I had a similar problem on a 1.9 and eventually found that one of the drive gears on the back end of the cams had slipped. These gears have to be accurately aligned to ensure the two camshafts are synchronised, but they are not keyed to the shafts! They rely on the tightness of the retaining nuts. Once I found the problem, it was very easy to get the engine running again, but it took ages to find the cause.
