First post in he VX forum!!

My fiance has an 03 1.2 Corsa with what I think has a rattly timing chain. Car has done approx 95K miles. Currently considering getting it replaced or playing timing chain roulette. Car is in otherwise good condition so I guess its worth £1-1.5K privately.
Thoughts? Any recommendations for mechanics around the Surrey/Hampshire border that could have a look?

Hi, my Mum has a similar car (facelift 04) and it had the same problem. Quite common on these apparently.

She got the whole lot stripped down and replaced at a local garage for something like £250, so not much at all. Car is perfect 10k later, great little motor smile

Common problem. Usually down to incorrect oil being used and not being changed at the right intervals. These must use 5w30 fully synthetic, preferably C3 spec.

I also had a facelift 04 one, chain was done under a recall. Might be worth checking if your car is covered by that recall - even now they'll do the work if it's covered.
