Hi,

I'm hoping to buy a VXR8 within the next couple of months.

I was wondering if anyone could give me a realistic idea of running costs? i.e MPG, how quickly does it get through tyres breaks, servicing costs etc?

And finally what are they like to live with?

Thanks

You would be looking at av17-21 mpg, for other parts depends how you drive.
Service is pretty cheap

Head over to hsv & Monaro forum for more help and have a good look over old posts

Hi, Matt just got a VXR8 myself, only had it a couple of weeks after a long 18 month wait. Its probaly the best car I have owned but in terms of buying parts and goodies the most costly. I had to get one rear tyre, The other was already new as it was needed for its MOT by the previous owner and that was £265.00, I need new front discs and Pads which is around the £600 mark, But i knew all of this and it was reflected in the purchase price.. So in comparison to previous cars I've owned its not a cheap car to own, But none of my previous fleet had 400+ BHP... MPG just forget it go for SPG (Smiles Per Gallon) you get a permanent grin driving one, So thats 100's of SPG. biggrin
IMHO go for as low miles as you can get, Some people think different, and certainly dont rush into buying one...Hope this helps. Regards Paul
