Astra G (MK4) Windscreen washer not working

Hi,

Just noticed that the windscreen washers are not working. When they got low last time they seemed to lose power so topped up and away they went, although the water level didn't seem low enough to warrant a dribble.

Fast forward to now and with the engine off, but ignition on I've tried them, nothing, no pump noise, but wipers move.

So checked all the fuses in the drivers panel inside the car and the same small fuses in the engine bay by battery. All are fine. Even using the Haynes guide I could not find a reference to the correct fuse. I've done some googling and it should be the 10amp in the engine bay. This is fine.

So my question is would the pump stop making a noise due to blockage etc? Or should it still make a noise? I'm guessing it has slowly been giving up the ghost and a replacement pump is needed.

Just to update. It was the pump. Turned the steering wheel towards the nearside to give me enough room to work by the nearside wheel. Removed the wheel arch liner. Popped the old pump out and was back in business. No need for wheel removal, nor bumper removal.
