Astra VXR prices

OK, as you can see, I'm a Honda fanboy. Never owned anything else. However, they have stopped making exciting cars. I am thinking about buying a new VXR Astra. My question is, having never bought a new car before, how much room is there to haggle? What have people paid for their new VXR's? Obviously I want the best deal possible. I will be replacing my DC5, so opinions on this are also welcome.

You should be down to 23/24k without even asking, Astons usually have adverts on autotrader for that sort of money, that included a few extras IIRC.

Personally I wouldn't go anywhere near a new car if used examples are available for cheaper - no waiting and you save a chunk of cash.

True Crafty, but not sure I can wait another year for prices to fall. I'm just being impatient.
The Arnold Clake care is an interesteding deal, but living in Jersey I'd have to pay some tax to get it back. I might see wht the local dealer says. I just know that there is room to haggle on a new car, but wasn't sure how much.

I bought my old Astra VXR brand new for £15,000 - if only we could get down to those levels again!

Too right. I think new stuff (not just the astra) is too expensive and full of crap we don't really need.

I know of a couple of demo ones that are going really cheap.

Pentagon Oldham have a demo car with the Aero bodykit (includes the 20" wheels) for £20,995.

You shouldn't be paying more than £23K for a new one with with Aero Kit IMO.
