I have a 2004 Zafira Y20DTH which has an intermitant engine light coming on.
It has been to main dealer and independent garage but they can't seem to fix it.
The problem is you can be driving along and the light comes on, you lose power if trying to accelerate but can cary on cruising along without noticing any difference. The light will stay on from 10 seconds to a few minutes then go out. The main dealer replaced a split turbo hose last time and has been ok for the last 1,000 miles but came on again on trip to Bristol at weekend.
Stayed on for 5 minutes the cleared came back on for a few seconds 80 miles later for a few seconds and then has stayed off since.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Do you know what codes are stored ? Can you try the pedal test (ignition off, hold brake and throttle to the floor, turn on ignition, it may display codes in the odometer or make the check light flash ).
If odometer displays a number, write it down.

Does engine power return when the light goes off or do you need to shut off and re-start the engine?
I'll take a random guess at EGR valve
