Evening all.

I have been reading up on these cars.. peoples builds etc

One thing that keeps popping up are "stage" tuning..

Now, at the risk of sounding thick, what are they?

All the threads I have read say "my car is a stage 2/3/4 with 'xyz' BHP" but they dont go into depth with whats envolved..

So, what do you all do to acheive the different stages?

If it helps, I have only been reading VX220 Turbo threads as I have a personal interest in the car

On a further note, I know the standard cars are 200 bhp, what would one have to do to get that to 250+ and how much would it cost?

Thanks everyone

Thanks..

the forum doesnt explain my question though.

Are the different stages just remaps?
or are there bigger bolt on jobs..

I know the exaust is replaced, but other then that im stuck...

also, is it the N/A that has the Supercharger conversion?

Did you click on the link I posted?? It's all in there. Everything. Stages, modifications, prices, expected power!!

If you go to the Courtney homepage and then click "tuning" in the left side menu and then "vx220" there are the n/a VX220 tuning options as well.

Bloody hell! the prices are a tad steep..

Is there anything that can be done "D.I.Y"
£2000+ for 50 bhp is stupid!

On a further note, it is just a remap and a new exhaust.. with a different airbox.. IMHO thats not 2 grands worth of stuff..

Full exhaust system, including race cats is at least £1200, so a good chunk gone on just that.

Have you actually got a VX?

Even in standard form they go pretty well.

You can get to around 250bhp for a lot less than £2k as the exhaust isn't necessary, they have two cats, a pre-cat and a main cat, you can do away with the first cat as that isn't needed for a mot, then you can either keep the original cat, decat or use a sports cat with a remap and then you will be able to get close enough to 250bhp without having to replace the whole exhaust system.

^ Which is what I am doing soon to mine, so pre-cat de-cat, keeping the standard main cat, new backbox and a remap.
