Buying my Mrs a corsa c runaround in a few weeks.
Is there anything to look for on these cars ? will probably be going for a 2002-2003 MY.

Are the High mileage cars ok with a decent service history?

Any engines to avoid?

Thanks in advance guys

You can get a steering knock which can be resolved with inner track joints or it could be a new steering rack on a low mileage car (like my wifes 03 28k). If the steering knocks &/or wanders factor this in.

We've also found rear fog lights break easily from the slightest tap (she's not good at judging distances) so if your wife has an issue with parking, rear fogs are £20ish (although must admit I have trade club discount). Easy to change though.

Apart from that, I find it a nice relaxing little car to drive compared to any of my 3 & easy/cheap to service yourself.

Check the carpet in the front for signs of being wet, drivers side will be the servo plate which is around a 5 hour job and the passenger side the relay box cover. Also check for a chain rattle when the engine is warm.

Yeah, having owned for one 3 years.
Check for the engine rattle as these are £500-£700 to fix
Wet floors
Handbrake, make sure there plenty of tension.
Also, bolster wear.

Other than that, the engines are pritty solid.
