Replacement clutch cost on a 53 2.0 dti Astra?

one of the guys i work with has knackered his clutch in the above astra. our local "friendly" garage that we send most of our staff cars to have quoted £720 to replace the clutch.

is that right??

tried Mr Clutch as a comparison and they couldnt quote.

just want confirmation before he scraps the car.

That sounds around dealer price for an Astra.

With some shopping around (and maybe sourcing the parts yourself) you might be able to get it down.

I was quoted £208+VAT labor and got the clutch for £106 including VAT and delivery (they wanted £200+VAT for the same clutch) for my Celica.

I think he'll use it as an excuse to get rid.

Its cheaper to change the clutch on my impreza - thats an engine out job.

Astra clutch should be £599 inc parts labour & VAT as VX have a fixed price repair offer on currently. I know as I'm a service manager for my sins at a VX dealer. The price is on the VX website.
