I'm looking at an aluminum C20XE engineblock made by Millington to put in my Caterham to replace the cast iron one which is currently used.
The engine block is listed on a site of an engine builder.

Don't need to mention the seller, that's not at discussion.

The construction of the engine looks solid with the divided casing over the mainbearings and the top to bottom tension bolts which holds it together.
I'm jus a bit concerned about the twisting and bending of the engine under load, which will obviously affect main bearings and liner wear.

On the other hand, the Duratec is all aluminum and is also capable of high powerratings

Has anybody experience with this engine block? I would like to know some onhands experience before I spent around GBP3000 for such a piece.
I'm going to build it with around 260-300HP in mind.

I was going to say that I didn't know Millington had made ally blocks for them. I knew QED did... turns out to be the same item

Maybe search under that name, see if you can find anyone using one.
I reckon your best bet is caterham owners or maybe the rallying fraternity

Yes got it right, it's a co development between the two.
Seeing the response, probably not many VX people use them.
They are also quite rare in the Caterham world, but my final try is to post it under the Escort guys who used quite a bit of C20XE engines.
Thanks anyway.
