Hello all,
I'm looking at getting a signum 1.9cdti and I'm doing approx 45k miles pa. Mondeo currently up to 300k so changing fairly soon. Any thoughts on these cars, they look good and seem good value. Also do they have an AUX ip for the audio.
Any advice helps
TIA Paul

I've tried to write this a few times now, usual PH error message comes up....

I've had mine for 5 1/2 years now, virtually from new and now wouldn't be without it.

It's the 1.9 diesel 150, goes well enough, is brilliantly comfortable on journeys, even though it is on factory 19's and serves well as family transport.

Sure, it's not the most dynamic or PH car, but that's not what it's about. Over it's life, it's had the DMF done, Alternator replaced and the Thermostat failed, all done under warranty, even thought the Alternator went at 3 1/2 years old.

Mine's a Design, Basically a Vectra SRi with a few extras. Below this are Elegance and Exclusive and Elite is top. All have Sat nav, Exclusive 18's and Elite Leather. Post 2007 have an Aux input, post 2006 it's an easy upgrade.

Common faults relate to EGR valves, DMF's, Broken springs and the swirl bar on the inlet manifold can come off. Mine did 2 years ago, it hasn't made a jot of difference as far as I can tell, oh, and Glow plugs can go, the car and spanner light will stay on for 5 or so minutes after start up, then go out (another to do job that isn't causing issues!) Also the air con rad is prone to damage from flying stones, but are about £100 from GSF.

Build quality is fine, still feels nice and tight to drive, no rattles, wandering or vibrations show up on mine.

I was planning on replacing it last year, but couldn't justify spending out on anything else. I've become quite attached to it, TBH.

Any other questions, please ask, I'll do my best.

Thanks for that, you have just about covered everything. No more problems than any other car then. I do like the look of them, and for what I need (motorway miles) seem ideal.
If think of anything I`ll ask.
Cheers

I bought a Signum 1.9 cdti 150 Design in January 2011. Including the purchase price of £3.5k, in the 8 months I owned it, it set me back a total of £8k, and spent more or less half of that 8 months in one garage or another!

More or less everything went wrong with it, Cat, dpf, inlet manifold, high pressure fuel hose, egr valve, alternator, turbo, heater switch, can't remember everything. On top of that, there was a glow plug fault, the sat nav was intermittant, and the dmf was rattling.

When it worked, it was a great car, but I wouldn't buy another diesel version ever!
