Vauxhall Meriva 2007 steering grinding

Hi,

My dad's steering power steering is failing and Vauxhall replaced the steering at no cost out of warranty.

However the fault is still there and the EPS light has never come on so it doesn't appear to be the standard well published fault.

Can anyone shed any light on what the issue could be?
