Corsa D 1.0 - Almost total power loss, any ideas?

Hi Guys
A month or so back, I noticed that every now and then, when i turned the key in my Corsa, all the way to the 'start' position, it would fire as normal, and then go silent. Every time I simply turned the key a second or third time, she'd start perfectly, and I'd be on my way.
But today, after stalling at some traffic lights, when I restarted the car, (out of gear, handbrake on, as normal) she was deathly silent, and when I went to move away it was at a crawl, with no movement from the Rev Counter, and wouldn't go above around 5 mph. I tried switching between second and first whilst on the move, and this made no difference.
I limped accross the junction, pulled up on the pavement and after leaving it for a while, it started fine again.
When I came back to the car after completing my 2 minute drive, I tried starting and restarting, and sure enough, a couple of times all was quiet...
Can anyone shed any light on what might be the problem here? (The car is still under warranty so I'm not bothered if its expensive
)
